Schneider Electric, a global leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, has awarded Bosco S.r.l. the contract to modernize part of the main control room of ISAB S.r.l. refining and gasification plants in Priolo Gargallo (Siracusa). This strategic project aims to raise operational standards and improve safety at one of Europe largest and most complex industrial sites.
The ISAB plants, a cornerstone of the Sicilian petrochemical hub, are known for their vast refining capacity (320,000 barrels per day) and the significant energy contribution of the I.G.C.C. (Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle) plant, which produces 532 MW of electricity. Managing such a large-scale infrastructure requires cutting-edge control center to ensure efficiency, reliability, and safety.
Bosco's choice reflects Schneider Electric's desire to rely on a partner of proven excellence. The revamp will include modernizing the operator stations, integrating new display technologies, and optimizing the room's overall ergonomics to improve operator comfort and performance.

Top-of-the-range for a particularly critical environment
Given the critical volume of equipment to be managed, the extreme sensitivity of the data, and the need for timely decision-making within the ISAB Control Room in Priolo Gargallo, Schneider Electric chose Karma2, the control console considered the world's top-of-the-line.
The Karma2 console stands out for its exceptional robustness, capacity, and aesthetically outstanding design, representing the ideal solution for this crucial operating environment.
Designed to accommodate two workstations, a large, curved Karma2 console was positioned in the center of the control room. Beneath the work surface, spacious compartments organized like electrical cabinets are integrated to house and manage hardware and cable flows. The incredibly sturdy legs are equipped with cable channels and power outlets. With a deep, 1100 mm cantilevered top, the console ensures operator comfort, freedom of movement, and a consistently clear and tidy work surface.

For a distinctive touch, the control consoles were customized with the Schneider logo integrated into the sides. The setup was completed with the addition of RGB-illuminated Lexan back panels and nine professional LCD monitors.

Cutting-edge Technology and Advanced Ergonomic Solutions.
The end result is a next-generation critical environment that allows operators to monitor and manage plant resources ergonomically and efficiently.
This success is the fruit of a solid, decades-long relationship of trust between Schneider Electric and the BOSCO team. This collaboration has enabled the achievement of the best results, fully satisfying all of the customer's requirements.
