Bosco Srl has completed a new project for ATM – Azienda Trasporti Milanesi, delivering the technical furniture for the SOS operations control room at Building 3.
For this project, ATM selected the Console 2000S, a control room console system distinguished by its clean design, elegance and versatility. The modular design of the series made it possible to develop a tailored workstation layout that meets a range of operational requirements while maintaining a consistent aesthetic throughout the room.

The control room was organised through the strategic positioning of operator consoles, dividing the large space into distinct, functional work areas. The overall configuration accommodates up to 25 operators.
One of the project's defining features is the variety of workstation layouts, ranging from stand-alone operator consoles to linear console configurations accommodating up to seven operators.
At the centre of the room, three curved operator consoles are dedicated to supervisory activities. Their positioning establishes the operational hub of the room, distinguishing the central supervision area from the surrounding workstations and creating a clear, well-organised layout.

A key aspect of the project was the introduction of customised workstation features to meet ATM's specific requirements. These include a compartment beneath the worktop designed to accommodate a keyboard and secondary monitor, integrating the equipment into the workstation while keeping the main work surface clear and organised.
Another bespoke feature is the distinctive C-shaped workstation design, also incorporated into the linear console configurations. This layout gives each operator a clearly defined individual workspace, enhancing the overall organisation of the control room.
Each workstation is also equipped with a dedicated drawer unit, which physically defines the individual work area while providing convenient storage for documents, tools and other essential items.
These tailored solutions demonstrate Bosco Srl's ability to adapt modular control room furniture to specific operational requirements, combining workstation functionality, efficient space management and a consistent design language.

This project highlights the importance of viewing technical furniture as an integral part of control room design rather than simply as a furnishing element. Every design choice contributes to defining work areas, integrating equipment and supporting operators in their daily activities.
The combination of modular console configurations, dedicated workstations and customised equipment compartments creates a cohesive, functional environment tailored to the needs of a modern transport operations centre.
The result reflects Bosco Srl's approach to control room furniture design and manufacturing: developing adaptable, purpose-built operator consoles that combine functionality, aesthetics and practical solutions for complex operational environments.
